The 25th of November proved to be a rather fashionable and stylish evening as the Asian Couture Federation Awards Gala Dinner was held at Marina Bay Sands. The event featured many prominent individuals from the fashion industry in one place.
H.E Haruhisa Takeuchi was also in attendance and presented esteemed Japanese designer KENZO with an Asian Couture Federation Lifetime Achievement Award for his all his effort and contributions to the world of fashion.
The top 3 Japan and top 3 Singapore winners of this year’s 4th JCC sustainable design contest were also exclusively invited to the event. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to be further exposed to the fashion industry.
H.E Haruhisa Takeuchi made a speech at the event expressing his delight at JCC’s involvement and contribution to the event. The highlight of the night for JCC came shortly after H.E Takeuchi’s speech when the 6 winning garments from JCC’s 4th sustainable design contest were featured on the runway.
The 6 winners were also able to dress the models and have the experience of going backstage to feel the ambiance of what happens before the models are due to walk the runway. However what seemed to excite the students the most was meeting KENZO himself. The students were simply elated at the chance to meet such a prominent Japanese designer who was more than happy to oblige a photo request.
Hearty congratulations to the top 3 Japan and top 3 Singapore winners once again. We do wish them success for their future endeavours and hope that this experience motivates them to greater heights.
